Приєднався 24 чер 2016
I am a homeschooling mama that loves to sing with my children. We will explore singing technique, practicing solfa with curwen hand signs, and folk songs.
On Folk Songs - "They are of the earth, and the wind, and the home, and the heather, and all the gracious commonplaces of human life and circumstance... They are children of the open air."

UPDATE: our plans moving forward
Announcement: our family is moving soon so we’ll be taking a break from creating new lessons. I plan to start putting up Level D in January.
I hope to create some videos with some songs/singing games to tide us over this fall. Thank you for being patient with us during this transition time and as always, thank you for singing with us.

Our family is enjoying your videos so much! Thank you for all of your work to put these together! My toddlers ask for "Solfa" and walk around the house singing correct intervals, and my older children are honing their vocal skills and loving the process! Your examples are beautiful - we are so blessed by the loving way you created and shared these lessons! I just discovered your videos this fall and have been loving them. They are a wonderful starting point for our family. And yet, I am also so glad you stopped making the videos so you could prioritize your family and health - we need more of that kind of prioritizing in our world! Well done on both fronts!!

Where can we listen to Family Roots Radio online? Thanks!
I've been thinking about you and wonder how things are for you and your family. Thanks for all you've taught us!
Are you doing ok? From the news reports the East Coast has been hit pretty hard lately, and I noticed you didn’t put videos out in January like you were planning. No pressure, just want to make sure you and your family are ok!
I am thankful to listen to you. It will lead me to try to do warm ups without worrying.
Keeping you in prayer! So sorry to hear you have had a rough time and I pray peace from God and his wisdom and comfort will be with you and your family. No pressure to get back sooner than you are ready! Just wanted to say we love your videos. You have contributed so much to our homeschool experience and it has been a joy and we have learned so much.
Do you have a Facebook or Instagram page? We have been doing your singing lessons for two years and it's one of my favorite parts of our homeschool.
I love learning these new games!
Thank you for these awesome videos! It would not have been improved by expensive equipment and professional settings. I love it just like this! ❤️
Thank you so much for making these videos! We use them regularly at our small AO inspired co-op. I hope that you're settling in well in your new home, enjoying more family time and that you are feeling well.
Wonderful. We are only on the level B lessons but glad to hear there will be more to come. Praying for you and your family during this time.
You all are woven securely in our musical lives in our homeschool. We bless you as you rest, settle and revive! This will require ME to step up my MY game as you regain yours! I appreciate this resource SO much but KNOW God will take care of us all as He is calling you to care for yourself and your family! I declare healing over you!
I'm continuing to hold you and your family in the light!
I head about you when you talked with Pam Barnhill on her podcast. We have loved every video. My kids are learning great folk songs and how to read music. Thank you for putting together this resource for homeschool parents who have no musical training.
Thank you so much for doing these videos! My son is 6 and not ready to move on. I could likely modify but this is such a treasure to us that I'd like to wait so he gets more out of it. I also have a 7 year old daughter who takes piano lessons. What would you suggest to continue with solfege for the next couple terms?
What a great point you made! LOVE it!
Thank you for the update and all you do!
Hello I'd like the printable as well. Trying to get my kids engaged with solfege this year! Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the update, we really enjoy joining in with your sweet family in singing. We will continue to pray for your family during this transition and continued healing. Blessings!
I actually came here to thank you for the videos - I started using A with my kids this year (now B), not really expecting them to pay enough attention to learn, but hoping to encourage my one kiddos love of music. And I did get the expected pushback from the older ones - and yet I kept hearing more and more singing along with you each morning and today the whole pile of kids home is singing up a storm with lucy locket. They seem to really be engaging with your videos and singing more and more around the house! I dunno that they will be winning any awards for skill, but at least they have a tune and they are enjoying it! I am so sorry about your illness and trauma, you have been a wonderful resource and you should in no way feel bad about doing what your family needs right now! Don't hurry back, if January is too soon, we will all be here later on or even next fall. Whatever. You don't owe us anything - though we love the work you have done and continue to do.
We will keep you in our prayers during this trying time. I have chronic conditions and to trying to homeschool my granddaughter and run a family (extended family) website with announcements, family history and more so I understand where you are at. I've had to take extended breaks myself at times. May G-d be with you during this time and always and may you a complete and speedy recovery!
Praying for your move! I'm so thankful for your contribution to the homeschool community and the growth of musicianship of dear homeschool families!!! <3 Can't wait to see what you share!
Thanks for the update. We truly appreciate your lessons. Prayers for a peaceful transition.
